William O'Connor and Carrie Berven were married on September 4, 1888 in Eagle Grove, Wright County, Iowa. His parents are listed as Timothy and Margaret O'Connor. Carrie's parents are listed as Svend Berven and Gina Meland. William is listed as being 35 (born ca. 1853) in Louisiana.
In the 1900 Eagle Grove, Wright County, census, William J. O'Connor is enumerated as having been born in Louisiana in September 1859. His father was born in Ireland and his mother in Louisiana. The household consists of William, wife Carrie, daughters Margaret and Mary and son William. William is also listed as owning his home free and clear of a mortgage. In the 1905 Iowa state census, William is not enumerated in the household. In 1910, Carrie still owns property free and clear of a mortgage.
Because of the property ownership, there will be a probate file in the Wright County courthouse between 1900 and 1905 to transfer title of the property solely to Carrie. This probate file will list the date of death of William and any bills and claims, i.e. a funeral home or cemetery bill.
