Ed, I asked Barbara Behrend in Brookings County if she could locate your Mary Meeker in any burial records in Brookings County, SD. There are over 19,000+ names in her database. Mary was not in the burial records, but she went the extra mile and made a trip to the Brookings County courthouse and located the following information which confirms that Mary did, indeed, die there.

MARY MEEKER, born 15 July 1852 and died in White, SD 11 Feb 1936.
She was born in Ashtabula County, Ohio and her father was Lyman Dalrymple, born in New York State and her mother was Susan Gardner, born in Connecticut.
Her residence is listed as Belmond, Iowa. She was a widow, and her husband was Romanzo Meeker. Cause of Death- pneumonia; Informant Mrs. W.A. Farrell of White, South Dakota.The place of burial was given as White, SD, with no lot or block number; However, there is no listing in burial records for her. Barbara is not sure she is really buried there. Barbara also has a couple of pages from a history about the Farrell family that she is willing to share with you. The Belmond Public Library, 440 East Main Street, Belmond, IA 50421 has copies of
“The Belmond Independent”newspaper for 1936. I suggest that you write them. They are willing to try to locate an obituary after 11 February 1936 for Mary for you.
