Emily B. Tustison (correct spelling) appears to have been born in August 1889 in Wapello, Louisa County, Iowa to Dr. Frank Tustison (a Wapello physician) and his wife, Sophia J. (Hook) Tustison. Dr. Tustison was born 25 Jan 1837 in Crawford County, Ohio and died in Wapello on 25 Nov 1900. Sophia J. Hook was born 16 Aug 1859 and died 18 May 1905 in Wapello. They were married 6 August 1879 in Louisa County, Iowa. Emily had two brothers Frank and Charles and a half brother, Dwight Tustison. The History of Louisa County Iowa (1912) has biographical sketches of Dr. Frank Tustison, Dwight Tustison and the Hook family. Lester Quasdorf has descendants from his marriage to his first wife who died in 1929 in Dows, Iowa.
