He attended his home country school until he completed the grades. Then he attended the Klemme High School from which he graduated in 1927. While his untimely death was a shock not only to his own loved ones, but to the entire community, yet the disease germ had worked its way deeper into his life than anyone had dreamed of. Our Sympathies as well as those of the entire community and all who knew Luther, or "Mike" as he was better known among his friends, go to the grief struck family.

Those who survive him are: his mother, Mrs. Rose Tanner; his brother, Robert; three sisters, Florence at home, Bernice who is teaching school at Madrid, and Francis who has a position in Chicago.
