December 23, 1936 ---- April 1, 2017

Wanda M. Hall, 80 of Mason City, died Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, April 7, 2017 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave, with Pastor Ed Bard, Chaplain Hospice North Iowa, officiating. Inurnment will be held in Amsterdam Cemetery, Goodell, Iowa. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 until 7 PM at the funeral home.

Wanda was born December 23, 1936 the daughter of Menno and Violet (Harberts) Smit in Belmond, Iowa. As a young girl Wanda fell ill with rheumatic fever. She attended school in Renwick and Kanawha. She later earned her GED from NIACC.

Wanda was united in marriage to Emery Bardwell, to this union they had a daughter, Debra. Emery passed away in 1961. Wanda later was united in marriage to Fayne Hall. Fayne passed away in 1984.

Wanda was employed at the Belmond Healthcare Center for eight years and also at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake, for twenty-five and a half years. In her spare time she enjoyed taking in the local garage sales and working on jigsaw puzzles. She collected postcards and relaxing with a good book and was always interested in learning more trivia.

Those thankful for having shared in Wanda’s life include her children, Peggy Hall of Mason City, Donald Hall of Mason City; grandson, Jason Bardwell of West St. Paul, MN; brother, Warren Smit of Mason City; good friend, Bonnie Steuben; several nieces and nephews and special cats, Domino, Mikey and Oliver. Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Emery and Fayne, and her daughter, Debra.
