Edwin Ben Nieman, son of Albert and Eva (Borchers) Nieman, passed away at his home in Britt, Iowa, Monday evening, January 10, 1977. He was born February 1, 1907, near Kanawha, Iowa, and was 69 years, 11 months, 9 days, at time of death.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and was a faithful member of the Britt Christian Reformed Church. He received his education in the rural schools near Kanawha. He was married to Dorothy Blank on February 1, 1933, at the Kanawha Christian Reformed Parsonage by Rev. D. H. Plesscher. They farmed in the Kanawha and Britt areas for many years. In 1971 they retired and moved to Britt, where they have since made their home. Ed enjoyed reading and fishing.
Mr. Nieman is survived by his wife and family; 3 brothers, John of Kanawha, Casper and Martin, both of Britt, 1 sister, Mrs. John (Jennie) Eekhoff of Kanawha, a brother-in-law, Edd Luppen of Kanawha; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Mrs. Ben (Grace) Blank and Mrs. Edd (Christena) Luppen.
Funeral services were held on January 13, 1977, at Britt Christian Reformed Church, with Rev. Ronald Lammers officiating. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery, Britt, Iowa.
