SERVICES HELD AT KANAWHA FOR MRS. A. NIEMAN
Eva Borchers Nieman was born near Freeport, Ill., on Jan. 15, 1877, and at the age of four moved with her parents to Butler County, Iowa, where she remained for the next 15 years. In 1896 she found employment here in Hancock County, and was joined in marriage to Albert Nieman on Jan. 19, 1897. Seven children were born to this union. They are (Grace) Mrs. Ben Blank; (Tena) Mrs. Edd Lupen, Kanawha; Casper of Crystal Lake: John and Edwin of Kanawha: (Jennie) Mrs. John Eekhoff and Martin Nieman, of Britt. Her children, her 23 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Jennie Steen, of Ocheydan, survive her. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died Sept. 16, 1942, one sister, three half-sisters and one half-brother. At the time of her death, she had reached the age of 83 years, 8 months, 22 days, during which she experienced many things in life.

On May 17, 1933, she joined the Kanawha Christian Reformed Church and was a member there until her death. Services were held at the Kanawha Christian Reformed Church on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 2 p. m. A short prayer service was held at the home at 1:30. The Rev. Bode officiated. Burial was in the Kanawha Cemetery.
