Rites Saturday for Goodell Man

Goodell - Funeral services for Heiko Brass, 54, will be held Saturday at 2 pm at the Goodell Evangelical church with the Rev. A. T. Rollin of the Fundamental Baptist church of Belmond officiating in the absence of the local pastor. Heiko Brass, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Brass, was born June 14, 1896 in Goodell on the place which is now the Will Janssen farm. He has lived in this vicinity his entire life. A few years ago he was married to Waneta Spurgeon Wessels of Mason City. In January Mr. Brass suffered a heart attack and received treatment since that time at the Belmond hospital. Two weeks ago he entered Mercy hospital at Mason City where he died at noon Wednesday. Survivors are his wife, son, Russell, two sisters, Mattie Brass, R.N., who is studying for her masters degree in Ann Arbor, Mich., and Mrs. Lloyd Van Buskirk of Goodell. His parents and a brother preceded him. The Fulton funeral home of Belmond is in charge with burial in the local cemetery.
