Mae Elizabeth (Ennen) Schreiber, the daughter of Henry and Daisy (Keel) Ennen, was born April 18, 1920, in Britt, Iowa. Her family moved to Meeker, Colorado while she was a young girl. Returning to Iowa, she graduated from Britt High School in 1938. Mae worked as a domestic until her marriage. On October 26, 1941, Mae was united in marriage with Henry Lester Schreiber at the First Lutheran Church in Britt. They were blessed with seven children. Together they farmed for many years in Hancock and Wright County. They retired in 1989 and moved to Eagle Grove.

Mae was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Woolstock and her favorite saying was "Put the can't down and do it anyhow"!

Mae passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at the age of 93 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 58 years, Henry on December 8, 1999; brother, Merle in childhood; two daughters, Judith Ritter and Gloria Reikens; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren. Mae is survived by her children: Marjorie Kuebrich and husband, Terry of Montrose, CO, Gerald "Jerry" Schreiber and wife, Mary of Kanawha, Richard Schreiber and wife, Elaine of Garner, Kenneth Schreiber and wife, Julie of Knierim and Merlin Schreiber and wife, Michele of New Vienna; two sons-in-law, James Ritter of Cedar Falls and George Reikens of Weslaco, TX; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grand grandchildren; 7 great great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

EAGLE GROVE - Mae E. Schreiber, 93, of New Vienna, Iowa, formerly of Eagle Grove, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014, in New Vienna.Funeral services will be Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Woolstock with Pastors Bill VanNostrand and Mark Schreiber officiating. Visitation will be Friday 5 to 7 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Britt. Foust Funeral Home & Cremation of Eagle Grove and Goldfield in charge of arrangements.
