AGED KANAWHA WOMAN BURIED

Mrs. H. P. Eekhoff, 75, Was Resident Since 1890 in Wright County.

KANAWHA, Jan. 8. — Mrs. H. P. Eekhoff, 75, resident in and around Kanawha for the past 46 years, died Monday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bert Roskamp. Mrs. Eekhoff, formerly Trienstje Siemens, was born March 21, 1860, at Freeport, Ill. She was married to H. P. Eekhoff Sept. 18, 1879. They moved to Hastings, Nebr., and then to Newholland, S. Dak. In 1890 they came to a farm near Kanawha. In 1914, retiring from the farm, they made their home in Kanawha, where he preceded her in death Aug. 29, 1930. After the death of her husband, Mrs. Eekhoff remained in her home in Kanawha for several years until her failing health made her spend considerable time with her daughters. She leaves five daughters and one son, the Rev. Peter Eekhoff of Reading, Minn.; Mrs. James Vander Sluis of Yakima, Wash.; Mrs. Albert Vander Ploeg, Mrs. Bert Roskamp and Mrs. Ed Assink of Kanawha and Mrs. Joe Roskamp of Grundy Center. Also 29 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. The living brothers and sisters are John Siemens of Goldfield; Remt Siemens of Lake Crystal, Minn.; Mrs. John Koster of Sanborn; Mrs. Ben Primus of Wellsburg and Mrs, Bert Schreur of Kanawha. Funeral services were held Wednesday with services at the Berl Roskamp home and at the Christian Reformed church with the Rev. D H. Plesscher officiating.
