KANAWHA — Jeanne Elaine Carlson, 78, of Kanawha passed from this life to the next on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 6, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Kanawha with Pastor Tim Rieckhoff-Faris officiating. Burial will be in Amsterdam Township Cemetery in Kanawha. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ewing Funeral Home, 118 East Second St., Kanawha, and continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Jeanne Elaine Trimble was born June 16, 1934, to Earl and Grace (Holmes) Trimble, the third of their three children. Jeanne was united in marriage to Harlan Carlson in the Little Brown Church on Nov. 14, 1954. To this union five children were born. Harlan and Jeanne lived their entire married life in the Kanawha area. She was a devoted wife, mom, grandma and “grandma-the-great” who lived a life of love and grace.

Jeanne is survived by daughters Vicki (Monte) Engh of Ankeny and Valorie (Don) Halbur of Springfield, Mo.; sons Tony Carlson and fiance Cathy Thorngate of Buffalo Center, Michael (Mary) Carlson of Crane, Mo. and Brent (Kelly) Carlson of Ozark, Mo.; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brother and brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and friends. Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan, her parents, parents-in-law, sister and sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces and nephews.
