Daniel Green, son of Carrol and Margaret Pigg Green was born on May 14, 1871 at Cookeville, Tenn. His education was received in the schools of that community, where he grew to manhood. He was reared in the Baptist faith. On July 9, 1899 he was united in marriage to Anna Margareta Kanitz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Kanitz, the wedding taking place at Arthur, Ill. The couple established their home in Corwith, where they farmed for over 40 years, before retirement. Blessing the home of Mr. and Mrs. Green were 5 Sons and 3 Daughters, Edward N., Ethel C., Carl J., Elbert J., Harold E., Bertha C., Beulah B., and William G. Mr. and Mrs. Green always took active interest in the community life, but their greatest interest entered with their family. The family circle was broken on August 31, 1954 when Mrs. Green passed away. Mr. Green enjoyed visiting with his many friends and especially liked to walk for long distances. Reading of the bible was one of his daily habits, especially before doing anything else. Only recently has he been ill health and was confined to the Hancock Memorial Hospital, where he quietly slept away early Monday at the age of 86 years, 11 months and 14 days. Surviving Mr. Green are his Children: Edward N., Klemme, (Ethel) Mrs. Dan Halligan, Corwith, Carl J., Lake City, Elbert J., Britt, Harold E., Renwick, (Bertha C) Mrs. Frank Q. Davis, Britt, Beulah B. Green, Britt and William G. Green, Wesley, as well as 5 daughters-in-law and 2 sons-in-law, along with 27 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren. Services were held on Wednesday at 2:00 at the Methodist church, preceded by a prayer service at the Boughton Funeral Home for the immediate family. The Rev. R. M. Bell, brought the comforting message. The interment took place in the Corwith cemetery
