September 2, 1899 --- March 1, 1980

Services for Wayne Bingham, 80, were held at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Hibben, pastor of Lee Center United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in the Alden Cemetery [Iowa] and Surls and Grupe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bingham died March 23 at a Mesa, Ariz. hospital. Wayne Bingham was born Sept. 2, 1899, in Hand County, S. D., the son of George B. and Mary Kenyon Bingham. He came to Iowa in 1934 and married Josephine Nachazel at the Methodist parsonage at Popejoy Feb. 5, 1942. The Rev W. J. Snarr performed the ceremony in the presence of the brides brother and wife Mr. and Mrs. Glen Nachazel and her father Emmet Nachazel. After a short wedding trip the couple made their at home with her father east of Popejoy. Wayne & Josephine farmed in Franklin County until retiring in 1967 and moved to Iowa Falls in 1976. Mr. Bingham was a member of Lee Center United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Vincent of Craig, Colo, and Arden of Gillette, Wyo.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; three brothers, John of Wessington, S. D., Ross of St. Lawrence, S. D., and Robert of Taylors, S. C.; and two sisters, Mary Thompson of Olympia, Wash and Helen Hansen of Wolsey, S.D. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Paul Bingham.
