Harold Cunningham, age 88, of Belmond, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond. A private family service is planned with burial in Amsterdam Cemetery.
Harold was born Nov. 18, 1923 in Moingona, Iowa, the son of Herman and Ruby Cunningham. Harold was a graduate of Belmond High School. He was united in marriage with Marcella Green on Feb. 14, 1953. He lived on the family farm north of Goodell for 68 years and farmed most of those. He also was a crop insurance adjuster. Harold enjoyed gardening and woodworking. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include 2 sons, Marc (Sylvia) Cunningham of Portsmouth, VA; Dwight Cunningham of Goodell, IA; 3 daughters, Sharon (Don) Millage of Ames, IA; Tracey (Bill) Mikesh of Medway, MA; and Corrine (Jeff) Vande Vegte of Rock Valley, IA; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Marcella, spouse; Gail and Lynn Bailey, daughter and son-in-law; Noah Lee Mikesh, great-grandchild; his parents; and Lloyd Cunningham, brother.
Dugger Funeral Home of Belmond is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Goodell United Methodist Church.
