Thomas (Tom) Fleener, age 72, of Buffalo Center and long-time resident of Belmond passed away Wednesday October 31, 2012 at the Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center. A funeral visitation for Thomas (Tom) Fleener will be held from 1:30 - 3:30 P.M. Monday November 5, 2012 at the Dugger Funeral Home, 111 Luick’s Lane South in Belmond. Burial for Tom Fleener will take place in the Belmond Cemetery following the visitation. Dugger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Thomas Alan Fleener, the son of Clarence and Dolly Kelley Fleener was born on February 26, 1940 in Belmond. He grew up in the Belmond area where he attended school. Tom held various jobs before starting his own business, Fleener Construction. He was a life-long resident of Belmond. Tom was a very strong hard working guy, who loved fast cars and gambling. He was a free-spirit who lived life to its fullest.

Tom is survived by a two sons, Vince and wife Donna of Carroll, Troy and wife Alissa of Buffalo Center, four daughters, Renee Evje and husband, Brent of Eagle Grove, Lori Powers and husband, Shawn of Eagle Grove, Tammi Jones and husband, Mike of Pleasant Hill, MO, Stephanie Rish and husband, Dave of Iowa Falls, sister, Bonnie Dirks and husband, Bill of Belmond, brother, Larry Fleener and wife, Denise of Belmond sister-in-law, Phyllis Fleener of Belmond, grandchildren, Jonathon (Chandra) Nelson, Stephanie Nelson, Samantha Simons, Amanda Simons, Alan Fleener, Brooke Fleener, Austin Fleener, Tasha Harper, Michael Davis, Rebecca Powers, Layla Langfald, Cadin Fleener, Maison Fleener, great grandchildren, Brenden, Jazon, Livia, Issac, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Victor Fleener in January of 2012.
