BELMOND — Robert "Bob" McClure, 83, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at the Iowa Specialty Hospital in Belmond. A visitation was held at the Andrews Funeral Home Friday, Oct. 19th, from 5-7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at the Andrews Funeral Home, 528 E. Main St. Klemme, at 2 p.m. today, Saturday, Oct. 20th. The Rev. Janet Rieckhoff-Faris will be officiating the service. Military honors will follow the service. Those wishing to express their sympathies in memorials may consider the Klemme United Methodist Church.

Robert McClure was born on Jan. 12, 1929, in Marshalltown to Leroy and Eva (Theil) McClure. Bob graduated from Belmond High School in 1948. Bob enrolled in classes in Iowa State and studied farming. He was then called to duty serving the U.S. Army and after being honorably discharged, Bob was then united in marriage with Edith Schulte. Their marriage was blessed with five children Peggy, Nancy, Jane, Mary, and Susan. Bob farmed for numerous years as his lifetime career on a farm near Klemme. Bob's lifelong career was more than an occupation but a true passion. In Bob's later years he became more involved with his horses even being active in horse shows and rodeos throughout the area. Bob's enjoyment for being outdoors carried with him through not just the fields but to the lakes and rivers with his fishing adventures, along with camping in the great wilderness. His family and friends got the true joy of his one of a kind personality, his gentle nature and unique sense of humor.

Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years Edith; daughters Peggy (Craig) Moudy; Nancy (Tom) Naugon; Jane McClure, Mary (Robert) Benda and Susan McClure; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sisters Joyce (Donald) Markham, Mary Ellen (Gene) Ersland; brother Max (Helen) McClure; Sister-in-law Geri, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Leroy and Eva; brother Donavan; nephews Randy Ersland and Doug Markham. Andrews Funeral Homes.
