Cathy Sue Richards, 63, of Lake Forest, CA, passed away on November, 28, 2011 following a lengthy battle with Multiple Myeloma. She was born on Sept. 16, 1948 in Sacramento CA to Wayne and Nancy Chambers. She was the eldest sibling of Scott Chambers of Lodi, CA, Richard Chambers of Berkeley, CA, and Carla Miller of Monroe, WA. She is survived by her three sons, Chad Simpson of Lawrence, KS; Phillip Richards of Ladera Ranch, CA; and Darren Richards of Ladera Ranch, CA. She also leaves nine grandchildren, Michael and Morgan Simpson of Lawrence, KS; Cameron and Hannah Richards of Ladera Ranch, CA; Jarred, Jaden, Ethan, Matthew and Shane Richards of Yucaipa, CA. And 12 nephew and nieces, Keith Chambers of Lodi, CA; Brian Chambers of Provo, Utah; Megan Chambers of Lodi, CA; Ben Chambers of San Francisco, CA; Nigel Chambers of Berkeley, CA; Tyler Miller of Stevens Lake, WA; Jessica Hoffman of Marysville, WA; Victor Valentine of CA; Billy Van of Houston, TX; Cari Tulley of CA; brothers Brett and Kevin Richards of HI.

Cathy grew up in San Bruno, CA, attending Crestmoor High School. She raised her children in locations on the east coast, the Midwest and Southern California, where her professional life included many years of compensation administration for Santa Fe International Corporation, Covenant Care and Ensign Facilities Services. Cathy was a member of Saddleback Church-Rancho Capistrano, an active member in a Small Group and enjoyed the community and her wide circle of friends. Of her many interests, family was her passion, scrapbooking was her art. She found a way to combine those creating lasting memories through her books. Cathy took pride in being there for her friends, listening, loving, and caring. She made the world a brighter place and will be greatly missed. Yet, we rejoice that she is now face-to-face with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Cathy was predeceased by her parents.

A memorial service will be held at Saddleback Church, Lake Forest, CA, on Dec. 2, 2011, at 2 pm. Cathy will be interred in Corwith City Cemetery, Corwith, IA, next to her parents. Cathy has requested, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the International Myeloma Foundation. Bonham Bros. & Stewart Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family.
