Mrs. Alma Lauden, nee Kemp, was born November 15, 1876 in Pommern, Germany, and passed away Monday evening, July 14, 1921 at 7:15 o'clock in Klemme, Iowa, at the age of 47 years, 7 months and 29 days. The deceased came to America to make her home in 1888 to Fort Dodge, Iowa, where she first made her home. On March 22, 1894 she was united in marriage to John Lauden. To this union seven children were born, one died when but a child, but the other six are all living to mourn her death. The children are: Esther (Mrs. Chas. Overlees); Walter; Clarence; Alma, (Mrs. Irwin Rosendahl); Ella and Alvin. Mrs. Lauden was one of the early settlers in this county and for 30 years she and her husband lived on a farm near Klemme until a few years when Mr. Lauden died and she late moved to town. The deceased has been most faithful in church work and was a member of Immanuel Reformed Church of Klemme for over twenty-two years. Mrs. Lauden has been a long and patient sufferer and death came to her as a great relief from this worldly pain. She leaves to mourn her death two sisters, four brothers and six children. Funeral services were held last Wednesday at the Reformed church with the Rev. A.A. Depping officiating.
