WALTER NALL DIED SUN. AFTERNOON AT HIS HOME

Walter L. Nall, 80, pioneer Corwith resident, passed away at his home in Corwith Sunday afternoon, December 29th. Mr. Nall had been in failing health the past three years. Services are tentatively set for Thursday afternoon, January 2nd at 2 P.M. in the Corwith Methodist Church. Rev. Herman U. Smith will deliver the message. A prayer service will precede the church service at the Boughton-Corwith Funeral Home where friends may call.

Walter Nall was born February 4, 1883 at Decatur, Illinois to John and Cornella Jackson Nall. He came to Hancock County with his parents as a small boy and attended school at Stilson, Iowa where he grew to manhood. On December 25, 1907 he was united in marriage to Bertha Marth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Marth of Stilson. The couple farmed for many years on the farm south of Corwith known as the Hammel farm. Blessing the home were 4 sons: Clarence, Kenneth, Cecil and Edward. The family circle was broken for the first time in 1909 when their little boy Kenneth passed away. After retiring from the farm, the family moved to Corwith, where for many years he did livestock buying and trucking. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife Bertha; three sons: Clarence of Salem, Oregon; and Cecil and Edward of Corwith; plus 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Ella McKee of Britt and Mrs. Chris (Zelma) Schnebly of Albert Lea, MN; and 1 brother, Orville of Britt. Preceding him in death besides his parents and son were 3 sisters, Anna, Mrs. Fred Hunsley; Viola, Mrs. Victor Humphrey; Eunice, Mrs. Axle Anderson and a brother, William Nall. Interment took place in the Corwith cemetery.
