Michael George Fisch was born May 20, 1947, in Algona, son of Matt and Alvina (Weig) Fisch. Mike grew up in Algona and moved to South Beloit, Illinois at a young age where he held various jobs. Later Mike and his family moved to Vista, Arizona where he lived until 1985, when he returned to Algona. Mike enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on the computer, and going to stock car races.

Michael George Fisch died Thursday, January 8, 2004, at the Kossuth Regional Healthcare Center, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 56. He is survived by five children, Mike Jr., Brian, Matt, Nancy, and Jim; his mother, Alvina Fish, Algona; a sister, Kathy Shear, South Beloit, IL; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Pete, in infancy.

Funeral Mass and memorial service for Michael G. Fisch, 56, was celebrated by Father Paul Eisele at 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 12, in the chapel of the Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Corwith Cemetery at Corwith.

Michael George, son of Matt and Alvina Weig Fisch, was born May 20, 1947 at Algona. He was raised at Algona and moved to South Beloit, IL at a young age. He held various jobs in that vicinity. Mike and his family later moved to Vista, AZ where he lived until 1985, then returned to Algona. Mike enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on the computer and going to stock car races.

Michael George Fisch died Thursday, January 8 (2004), in the Kossuth Regional Health Center after a lengthy battle with cancer. He is survived by five children, Mike, Jr., Brian, Matt, Nancy and Jim; his mother, Alvina Fish of Algona; a sister, Kathy Shear of South Beloit, IL, and many relatives. His father and an infant brother, Pete, preceded him in death.
