CORWITH, IA - Harold Frank Fatka, 90, died Wednesday (Dec. 22, 1999) at Good Shepherd Home, Mason City. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 today at St. John Lutheran Church, Corwith, with the Rev. Caroline Engelbrecht and the Rev. David Babcock officiating. Interment will be in Corwith Cemetery. Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home, Corwith, is in charge of the arrangements.

Harold Frank Fatka was born on Nov. 12, 1909, in Plymouth to Frank and Mary Dvorak Fatka. He received his education in Plymouth, graduating from the Plymouth High School in 1927. After his schooling, Harold worked with his stepfather in the carpentry business. On Aug. 28, 1934, Harold was married to Esther E. Howell at Plymouth. The couple moved to Corwith in 1934. Harold operated several businesses in Corwith, including a hardware store for 22 years and the lumber yard for 15 years. Harold was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Corwith. He also belonged to the Corwith Community Club. Harold enjoyed woodworking and remodeling houses. Harold loved children and animals, especially his dog.

Harold is survived by his wife, Esther, of Corwith, and his cousin, Vera Claus Poppe and her husband, Reinhard, Plymouth. Harold was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather.
