Leonard "Lenny" Tebben

Leonard Dale Tebben was born on March 1, 1936, near Ventura, Iowa, to Anthony G. and Doris Leone Waddingham Tebben. Lenny moved with his family to the Corwith area when he was a young boy. He graduated from the Corwith Consolidated School in 1954. After his schooling, Lenny worked at the Hanna Ranch southwest of Corwith for 16 years. He then worked for a time at a resort in Minnesota. Lenny was then employed by Patterson Brothers in LuVerne. In 1975, Lenny started working for the Corwith Coop. He was married to Norma Jean Gatton Green on May 21, 1982, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Corwith. The couple lived in Corwith, where Lenny continued working for the Coop until 1996, and when it became Gold Eagle Coop, he worked another 5 years, retiring in 2001. Lenny enjoyed hunting, fishing, gun collecting and reading. He was a Volunteer Fireman for the Corwith Fire Department, serving as Fire Chief for 5 years. Lenny was also a member of the National Rifle Association.

Lenny died suddenly on Sunday, May 16, 2004, at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, Iowa. He was 68. He is survived by his wife, Norma, Corwith, Iowa, and 5 step children, Lori Richter and husband, Tom, Wesley, Iowa, Timothy Green and wife, Laura, Federal Heights, Colorado, Larry Green and wife, Holly, Garner, Iowa, Tammy Tebben and husband, Paul, Corwith, Iowa and Lanny Green and wife, Sharilyn, Thornton, Colorado. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 3 brothers, Russel Tebben and wife, Dona, Corwith, Iowa, Larry Tebben, Austin, Texas, Michael Tebben and wife, Jan, Oak Grove, Missouri and his sister-in-law, Arlene Tebben, Wall Lake, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Richard and Robert, 2 sisters-in-law, Sharon and Annie Tebben, 1 nieice, Zirla Tebben and 1 nephew, Tony Tebben.
