BELMOND, IA - Lillian Rose Withers, 84, of Klemme died Monday (Aug. 30, 2010) at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond. A private family funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, at the Dugger Funeral Home, 111 Luick's Lane in Belmond with Pastor Donna Buckman, officiating. Burial will take place in the Ell Township Cemetery in Klemme A public visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Dugger Funeral Home in Belmond.

  Lillian R. Withers, 84, Klemme, died August 30, 2010 at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond. A private service was held September 2 at Dugger Funeral Home with Pastor Donna Buckman officiating. Burial was in Ell Township Cemetery in Klemme

   Lillian Rose, the daughter of Arthur and Louisa Groh Knoke, was born March 20, 1926 in Klemme, where she grew up and attended school.  Lillian married Donald Mourlam in 1945, and they had two sons. Donald died in 1954. Lillian married Faye Withers on October 23, 1956, and they had a daughter. Lillian worked as homemaker and mother while her children were young. Later she worked for Winnebago in Forest City, and then was custodian at the Klemme school until 1999. She was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Klemme.

  Lillian is remembered for her love of crochet and handy-work. Her family and friends recall her cooking -- she loved to see everyone enjoying a good meal or dessert. Lillian also enjoyed gardening, picking berries, watching the birds, and shopping at Aldi. Lillian was warmly loved as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and school custodian.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Don; husband Faye (1982); twin children Henry and Martha; and sister Esther Kaduce. Lillian is survived by her children Don (Sue) Mourlam of Belmond, Robert Mourlam of Belmond and Kathy (Jeff) Scott of Phillipsburg, MO; grandchildren Nathaniel (Anna) Lindley, Matthew Lindley, Bob (Anne) Mourlam, Jenny Mourlam and Dan (Katie) Mourlam; great-grandchildren Hayden, Hunter, Harley, Holden, Emily, Ethan and Henry; and brother Arthur (Doris) Knoke of Phoenix, AZ.
