KLEMME — Irene M. Barz, 91, died Saturday (Oct. 31, 1998) at the Kanawha Community Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ with the Rev. Georgia White-Kisslring officiating. Burial will take place in Ell Township Cemetery, Klemme. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Tenold Funeral Home, Klemme, and one hour prior to services at the church Tuesday.

Irene M. (Drake) Barz was born Sept. 10, 1907, at Buffalo Center, the daughter of William and Margarite (Reid) Drake. She graduated from the Garner High School with the class of 1927 and taught school in Hancock County. She was united in marriage to Martin Benjamin Barz on June 24, 1930, at Clear Lake. They lived their entire married life in Klemme. Irene was a member of the Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ in Klemme, Women’s Fellowship, Klemme Grandmothers Club, Senior Citizens Klub, and a 55-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Klemme.

Irene is survived by her two grandchildren, Scott Carter and his wife, Rose, of North Carolina, and Sue Carter of Raleigh, N. C.; great-grandson, Scott Carter Jr.; and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Walter (Gladys) Drake, of El Paso, Texas, and Stella Barz, of Klemme.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Martin, in 1995; her daughter, Maxine Krall, in 1992; sisters, Olive Norris, Grace Chase and Gladys in infancy; and brothers, William, Andrew, Walter, Ray and Earl.
