MASON CITY - Kathleen (Carolus) Oxley, 44, of Mason City, passed away Thursday (Dec. 23, 1999) as a result of a car accident west of Mason City. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Mason City with the Rev. Douglas Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Concord Township Cemetery, Garner. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. Fourth St., Garner, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church Monday.

Kathleen Ann Oxley, the daughter of Harlan E. and Betty L. (Griffen) Carolus, was born Feb. 14, 1955, in Belmond. She attended school at Klemme where she graduated from high school in 1973. She worked at Damon's Department Store and for several other businesses in Mason City. Kathy received her nurse's aide certificate from NIACC and then worked at Heritage Care Center in Mason City. On March 31, 1996, she was married to Michael Edward Oxley at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They made their home in Mason City. She was employed as a merchandiser for PIMS, Inc., in Mason City at the time of her death. Kathy enjoyed her family, sewing, baking and bowling.

Kathleen is survived by her husband, Michael Oxley, of Mason City; her stepchildren, Chad Oxley of Galveston, Texas, and Betsy Oxley of Seymour, Tenn.; a step granddaughter, Leslie Oxley of Seymour, Tenn.; her parents, Harlan and Betty Carolus of Klemme; two sisters, Janet Boehnke and her husband, Tom, of Ventura, and Linda Pringnitz and her husband, Steve, of Katy, Texas; a brother, Dean Carolus and his wife, Val, of Klemme; and many nieces and nephews. Her grandparents preceded her in death.
