Rev. Wm. E. Berg, son of Adam and Mary Berg, was born of German parentage on Nov. 28, 1859, in Clayton county, Iowa, and died Sept. 25, 1930, at the age of 70 years, 9 months and 27 days. On June 19, 1884, he was united in marriage to Carolina Schwichtenberg, and to this union were born two sons, one dying in early infancy, the other David E., now living at Des Moines. His wife, Carolina, died June 12, 1909, at West Grove. He was again united in marriage to Emily Exa Campbell of Hillsboro on June 22, 1910. He is survived by his wife, Emily E. Berg, one son, David E. and wife of Des Moines, two granddaughters, Gale and Gladys, and two brothers, Geo. L. of Florida and John of California. Interment was made in the Klemme Iowa, cemetery with Rev. U.S. Smith of the Fairfield M.E. church officiating.
