Interment will be in the Corwith Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home in Corwith.

Edna Marion Adams Livingston was born at home on the family farm in Erin Township, south of Britt, Iowa, on Dec. 20, 1908. She lived throughout her youth with her sister, Garnet and her parents, Ethel Mary (Carl) Adams and James George Adams.

Edna attended a one-room country school near the family farm south of Britt, on Route 111. After her family moved to the Corwith area, Edna attended the Corwith Consolidated School. Edna married Arthur "Bud" Livingston of Corwith, at Mason City on June 2, 1926. Edna and Bud made their home in the Corwith area and welcomed three sons into their family, Eugene Merle Livingston, James Arthur Livingston and Elmer Kenneth Livingston. When first married, Edna and Bud lived in the town of Corwith and later moved to the country and started farming east of town. After about six years, they moved to a farm near Wesley. In 1939, Edna and Bud continued farming and moved to a location north of Corwith and resided there until 1968. After many seasons on the farm, the couple retired and moved into Corwith. Edna was an active member of the Corwith United Methodist Church, where she also belonged to the UMW. She also belonged to the DYT Club, The Royal Neighbors of America, the Delta Club, the American Legion Post #229 Auxiliary, Hancock County TB Health Association and the Hancock County Republican Party. Edna always had the ability to make friends and share her positive and friendly outlook on life. At home, she enjoyed knitting, reading, coffee visits and walking for exercise. Edna nursed Bud for many years, through serious health problems until his death in 1983. Edna lived independently in town until 1993, when, due to reduced vision, she decided to relocate to the Kanawha Community Home, where she chose to continue making her residence. She died there on Saturday (Aug. 10, 2002) at the age of 93.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; sons, Eugene and Elmer; and grandsons, Dennis and Dale Livingston. She is survived by her sister, Garnet Johnson, of Ames; her son, James and wife, Lyn, of Carmichael, Calif.; her son Elmer's widow, Ila Livingston, of Mason City; her grandchildren, Kelly and Paul Livingston, Karla Eschete, Laura Stevens, Maria Farrar, Frances Leslie, James Adams Livingston, Lisa Livingston, Julie Breiner and Kenneth Livingston; and one great-grandson, Lucas Farrar.
