4 Nov 1942Kanawha, Iowa, Nov. 2, 1942: — The community was saddened to hear the tidings of the passing of Mr. Charles Prull at his home in Kanawha early Saturday morning. Mr. Prull was born in Germany on Jan 30, 1875. At the age of five years the family came to Parkersburg, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. In 1893 they came to Hancock County. On Feb. 28, 1902 Mr. Prull was united in marriage to Miss Fannie Eenhuis of Britt. They lived on a farm three and one-half miles north and one mile east of Kanawha until five years ago when they moved to their present home in Kanawha, where Mr. Prull passed away on October 31, 1942, at the age of 67 years, 9 months, and 1 day of age. Mr. Prull was an attendant at the local Christian Reformed church.
Surviving are his wife and one daughter, Grace, Mrs. Chris Abbas of Britt, three sons, Gerhard, John, and Fritz Prull, all of Kanawha; four grandchildren and three brothers, Henry Prull of Ceylon, Minn., John Prull of Loveland, Colo., and Louis Prull of Sanborn, Minn., three sisters, Mrs. Lena Steffen of Kanawha, Mrs. C. E. Johnson of Loveland, Colo., and Mrs. Otto Wellner of Springfield, Minn. Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the local church, the Rev. D. H. Plesscher in charge. Burial was made in Kanawha cemetery. [Amsterdam township cemetery]
