Chester J. Johnson, 83, of Kanawha, died Wednesday (June 7, 1995) at home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Kanawha Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Lee officiating. Burial will be in Amsterdam Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today at the Ewing Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church. Chester J. Johnson was born Nov. 19, 1911, in Kanawha. Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl Johnson of Mason City and Janet Otis and Judy Skow, both of Wesley; two sons, Wayne Johnson of Cedar Rapids and David Johnson of Kanawha; five sisters, Leone Baker of Goldfield, Edith Burras of Kanawha, Ethel Arthur of Madera, Cailf., Ruth Katuin of Madera, Calif., and Frances Swanson of Williams; three brothers, Lawrence Johnson of Fresno, Calif., Howard Johnson of Leland and John Johnson of Blacksburg, Va.; and 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter in
infancy, two infant sisters and one brother.
