Lois Lorraine Adreon, of Britt, died on Wednesday, July 4, 2001, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. She was 66.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 7, at the United Methodist Church of Britt. The Rev. Robert Dodge officiated. Music was provided by Peggy Eisenman who accompanied soloists, Darcy Eisenman and Erin Eisenman. Ushers were Robert Bravick and Harry Smith. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Britt. The Ewing Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Casket bearers were Tom Grant, Max Studer, Josh Eisenman, John Howe, Mark Eisenman and Jake Studer. Honorary bearers were Chad Eisenman, Michah Howe, Brady Studer and Ben Eisenman.

Lois Lorraine Adreon, the daughter of James and Elizabeth Marie (Freerkson) Shelton was born on December 30, 1934 at Kanawha. She attended the Kanawha High School and the Britt High School, graduating with the class of 1952. Following graduation she was employed as a clerk in a local grocery store. On August 30. 1952, she was united in marriage with Dayton Adreon in Britt. The couple made their home in Norfolk, Virginia, while Dayton served in the U.S. Navy. The moved back to Britt in 1955. Mrs. Adreon was employed as a bookkeeper with Fedders Healthmart. She was a member of the united Methodist Church of Britt and enjoyed reading, sewing and spending time with family.

Survivors include her husband, Dayton of Britt; three daughters, Robin Howe and her husband, John of Garner, Kim Grant and her husband, Tom of Britt and Darcy Eisenman and her husband, Mark of Britt; a son-in-law, Max Studer of Garner; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are three sisters, Helen Brunes and her husband, Stanton of Goodell, Marjorie Clark of Mason City and Carole Taylor of Mason City; and one brother, James Shelton of Cedar Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Tracy; one grandson, Michael; and one sister, Dorothy.
