MASON CITY — John "Jack" Estle, 69, of 707 N. Federal Ave. Apt. 1, Mason City, died Thursday (May 27, 2004) at home. Memorial service will be held at noon today at the Hogan- Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E. in Mason City, with the Rev. Denny Ganz officiating, where a flag folding ceremony will be conducted by members of Mason City Veterans Memorial Association. Inurnment will be in Amsterdam Cemetery, Goodell, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until noon at the funeral chapel.

John Leo "Jack" Estle was born May 16, 1935, in Mason City, the son of James and Virginia (Deach) Estle. Jack graduated from Mason City High School. Jack worked at various jobs around the area. Jack enlisted in the United States Army on June 7, 1955. He was then honorably discharged Jan. 18, 1960. Jack enjoyed fill-in word puzzles. His greatest enjoyment was getting together with his family for reunions and the holidays. John is survived by his long time companion, Virginia Rush, of Mason City; his two daughters, Debbie Digman and her husband, Jack, of Minneapolis, Minn., and Diane Ross and her husband, Mike, of Tucson, Ariz.; brothers and sisters, Barb Furnish and her special friend, Virgil Orman, of Mason City, Sue Pierce and her husband, Ted, of Mason City, Ginger Jacobson, of Gilbert, James and his wife, Terry, of Cartersville, Ga., Robert "Butch" and his wife, Lori, of Mason City, and Kathy Estle, of Austin, Texas; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Sandra Jean. Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel.
