Funeral services were will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Lutheran Church here [Britt] for George Eenhuis, 65, of Britt who died of a heart attack Monday, May 31, 1982 in Britt. The Rev. Gerald Melby will officiate at the service with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Britt. Visitations begins at 1 p.m. this afternoon at Cataldo Funeral Home, Britt.

George "Shorty" Eenhuis, the son of George and Reka (Blank) Eenhuis was born June 15, 1916 on a farm southeast of Britt. After attending the rural schools of Hancock County, he farmed with his father for several years. On Sept. 17, 1937 he married Geraldine DeWaard at her parents home near Kanawha. They farmed in the Britt, Garner and Woden areas until 1958 when they moved to Council Bluffs and operated a grocery store. In 1962 they returned to Britt and operated the "Alibi"; After working for the Buns Construction Company for 10 years, he retired due to ill health. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Britt.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine; his children: Loretta Eenhuis, Omaha, Neb.; Marlene (Gerald) Ryan, Auburn, Washington; George J. Eenhuis and his wife, Marie, Denver, Colo.; Verlyn Eenhuis and his wife, Ellen, Eldridge; Allan Eenhuis and his wife, Marta, Britt; and Roger L. Eenhuis, Denver, Colorado; 13 grandchildren; two sisters: Grace (Dick) Katuin, Kanawha; Elsie Abbas, Goldfield; five brothers: Menno Eenhuis and his wife, Matilda, Garner; Louis Eenhuis and his wife, Elva, Forest City; John Eenhuis and his wife, Lydia, Klemme; and Alvin Eenhuis and his wife, Helen, Garner; two sisters-in-law: Amelia Eenhuis, Britt; and Hazel (Joe) King, Mason City; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Frank and Fred Eenhuis.
