Anna Vrieze, 88, of Britt, died Monday (April 22, 1996) at Hancock County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Christian Reformed Church with the Rev. Brent Wassink officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Ewing Funeral Chapel. Anna Vrieze [nee Luppen] was born Dec. 10, 1907, in Kanawha. Survivors include three sons, Gerald Vrieze of Britt, Calvin Vrieze of Ionia and Kenneth Vrieze of Buffalo Center; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five sisters and three brothers.

Anna Luppen Vrieze, 88, passed away Monday, April 22, 1996, at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, Iowa. Anna, the daughter of Peter and Della Jans Luppen, was born December 10, 1907, in Kanawha, Iowa. She attended country schools in Kanawha. On February 26, 1934, she was united in marriage with Clarence Vrieze in Kanawha, Iowa. The couple made their home on a farm near Kanawha and farmed in the Britt and Woden area. In 1965, they retired and moved to Britt. Anna worked for several years in the lunch room at the high school. She also helped various ladies in Britt. Anna is remembered as always willing to give a helping hand. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed doing needle work, crocheting and embroidering. Anna was a member of the Christian Reformed Church, the Ladies Aide and the Senior Citizens. Anna is survived by three sons, Gerald and his wife, Virginia of Britt, Iowa, Calvin and his wife, Lorene of Ionia, IA; ten grandchildren, LeAnn, Marcia, Leroy, Jeff, Tim, Cyndy, Sherri, Tammy, Kent and Todd; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence, five sisters and three brothers. Interment is in the Evergreen Cemetery, Britt, Iowa.
