Funeral Services Held For Heiko Ruter

Funeral services for Heiko Ruter of Kanawha were held Thursday afternoon at the Wright Christian Reformed Church at Kanawha. Interment was made in the cemetery there. Heiko Ruter, son of Ben Gretje Ruter, passed away at the Hancock Memorial hospital in Britt on Monday, July 16th following a two week illness. He was born at Wellsburg on March 13, 1906 and reached the age of 67 years, 4 months and 3 days. With his parents he moved to the Wright County area and had farmed in the area many years. In 1957 he moved to a home in Kanawha. Since that time he was the sexton of the Amsterdam Township cemetery. He had also driven the school bus for several years. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and was a member of the Wright County Christian Reformed Church. One September 17, 1927 he was married to Pearl Brower at her parents home south of Kanawha. She preceded him in death in 1948. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Clarence Seebeck of Britt and Mrs. John DeWaard of Kanawha, and one son, Burl of Britt, 10 grandchildren, one great grandchild, one sister, Mrs. Adrian Verbrugge of Kanawha, and one brother, Harold Ruter of Garner. Preceding the deceased besides his wife were his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Relatives from here who attended funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Eiten, Mrs. Jessie Eiten, Mrs. Lubert Meyer, Eike and Alice Ruter, Mrs. Gertie Rieken, Mr. and Mrs. Roy de Neui, Mrs. John Heinrich, Mrs. Delbert B. Lindaman, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ruter, Mrs. John H. Ruter, Mrs. Grace Deters, Mr. and Mrs. George Blythe, Mr. and Mrs. Carl J. Nederhoff and Mrs. A. J. Janssen of Ackley.
