Herbert Brownfield Moon, 64, died Sunday at his home in Corwith. The body will lie in state from 10 a.m. until noon Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Corwith with services at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Corwith Cemetery. There will be a full military service by the Corwith American Legion Post No. 229. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home, Eagle Grove.
Survivors include his wife, Deloris; sons, Howard, Clarion, and William Minneapolis, Minn.; daughters, Mrs. Pat (Muriel) Segar, Webster City, Mrs. Don (LuAnn) Claus, Bakersfield, Calif., Mrs. Dennis (Anita) Witte, Webster City, Mrs. Rick (Jean) Hupp, Webster City, and Janet Moon, Corwith; sister, Mrs. Ralph (Betty) Cleveland, Eagle Grove, and 17 grandchildren.
Mr. Moon was born in Eagle Grove and attended school there. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942 and married Deloris Kennedy in 1947. He worked at various jobs in his lifetime. He was a member of American Legion Post 229 of Corwith and the First Baptist Church.
