Anna Terhark, 93, of Britt, passed away Thursday (June 1, 2000) at the Westview Care Center in Britt. Funeral services for Anna Terhark will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Britt Christian Reformed Church in Britt, with Pastor Steve Mulder officiating. Burial will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery in Britt. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Ewing Funeral Chapel in Britt, and one hour prior to services at the church.

Anna, the daughter of Kort and Elizabeth Niemeijer Delger was born March 3, 1907, in Finsterwolde, Holland. At the age of 3, Anna moved with her family to the United States. The family settled in the Kanawha area, where she grew up and was educated in the country schools. Anna was united in marriage with Fred H. Terhark on Feb. 6, 1929, at the Wright Christian Reformed Church near Kanawha. The couple farmed in the Kanawha and Corwith area until they retired in 1965 and moved to Fertile for a short time. In 1967, they moved into Britt. Anna was employed with the Britt school system for a time and later at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital for a number of years. Fred passed away Nov. 16, 1972. Anna moved to Westview Care Center in November of 1990. Anna was a member of the Britt Christian Reformed Church, the Ladies Aid and D.Y.T. Club. She always enjoyed raising beautiful flowers.

Anna is survived by her children, Betty Terhark, of St. Paul, Minn., Harm Terhark and his wife, Jean, of Corwith, Curtis Terhark and his wife, Arlene, of St. Ansgar, Marjorie Kavaya, of Mason City, Carroll Terhark and his wife, Maggie, of Mason City, Ilene Brown and her husband, Charles, of Mason City, Ken Terhark and his wife, Karen, of Britt and Linda Paulsen and her husband, Ronald, of Mason City; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and one brother, Henry Delger and his wife, Betty, of Clarion. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred; one grandson; four brothers; and two sisters.
