OBITUARY

Willard Allie
(From Clarion Clipper)

Willard Allie was born September 19, 1900 at Keanova, W. Va., and died Sunday morning about 7 o'clock, March 24, 1918, near Clarion, Iowa. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Allie of Ellsworth, Iowa, who survive him. He has seven brothers and two sisters, all of whom survive him. They are Walter and Fred of Jewell, Jess of Story City, Tony, who is in Honolulu with one of the nation's flying squadrons, Roy and Claude of Ellsworth and Oliver of Clarion, Ida of Ellsworth, and Mrs. Wm. Watson, who lives five miles south of Clarion and at whose home Willard has been sick for several months and where he passed away.

When he was only three years of age his parents his parents moved with him to Illinois, where they remained two years, then moving to Iowa, where for the past twelve years he has lived happily with the family until last fall when he was stricken with a complication of rheumatism, heart failure and dropsy, all caused perhaps by bad tonsils and poisoned blood. After several months of great suffering he quietly passed away Sunday morning, aged 17 years, 7 months and 5 days. Several of the family were with him at the last. He was raised under the influence of the Baptist church and was a kind and loving son and brother and much beloved, not only by his immediate family, but by his many friends as well.

Funeral services were held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Watson and at the Methodist church of Clarion, Rev. J. W. La Grone, the pastor, in charge on Tuesday afternoon, March 26, and the boy was buried in the Clarion cemetery. Sincere sympathy is extended to the family and friends in this great loss.
