Julia Ann Moseley
April 27, 1953 - June 13, 2022

Julia Ann Moseley, 69, passed away peacefully at home in Bartlett, Tennessee on June 13, 2022 after a valiant 5-year battle with cancer.

Julie was born April 27, 1953 in Lafayette, Indiana, the eldest child of David and Mary Ellen (Baxter) Balensiefer.

She grew up in Fowler, Indiana surrounded by parents, siblings, grandparents and extended family. After graduating high school in 1971, Julie attended Marian College in Indianapolis, IN where she met her future husband, James Randall Moseley.

Julie and James (Randy) were married May 26, 1973 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fowler and first resided in Indianapolis. To this marriage, 3 children were born: Laura Ellen Moseley of Madison, IN, James Robert (Emily) Moseley and Hope Elizabeth (Kormyn) Ash of Bartlett, TN.

Julie and her family also lived in Eagle Grove IA, Memphis, TN, Arvada, CO and Bartlett, TN.

Placing her education on hold while her children were young, Julie returned to school in the early 1990s and received her BS in Human Resources in 1996.

Julie was a member of the Catholic Church of the Nativity in Bartlett and gave much time and talent in such capacities as Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Resurrection Choir member and part-time receptionist. She assisted in making over 50 new albs (white liturgical robes) for the church and knitting countless hats & gloves for the homeless as well as many other projects.

Faith and family were Julie’s passions. She also enjoyed a variety of crafts including sewing, knitting and crocheting. She made many clever & beautiful gifts for family and friends over the years.

In addition to her husband of 49 years and her children, Julie is survived by seven grandchildren and 1 great-grandson, her father, David Balensiefer of Brook, IN and 4 siblings: Jim (Shiela) Balensiefer of Avon, IN, Mike (Nancy) Balensiefer of Brownsburg, IN, Christine (Rodney) Cowden of West Point, IN and Kevin (Brenda) Balensiefer of Logansport, IN. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ellen.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until Noon Friday, July 1st at the Catholic Church of the Nativity in Bartlett followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Noon. Burial will follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery in SW Shelby County.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Catholic Church of the Nativity, Bartlett, TN or a charity of the donor’s choice.
