Eusebius Benedict “Ike” Wilhelm
March 16, 1929 --- March 4, 1997

Eusebius (Ike) Wilhelm was born March 16, 1929, to Joseph and Karoline Kelsch Wilhelm at Linton, North Dakota. He attended Linton Country Schools and farmed in the area for a few years. He then started traveling around working construction jobs and moving to Eagle Grove in 1967. On May 30, 1980, he was united in marriage to Doris Peterson at the Goldfield United Methodist Church. He worked for Younglove Construction, Jacobson Construction, and Lambert and Hamlin Construction before retiring in 1988. They validated their marriage in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church on December 24, 1994. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove.

Eusebius (Ike) Wilhelm died Tuesday, March 4, 1997, at the Hamilton County Public Hospital in Webster City, at the age of 67.

Survivors include his wife, Doris, Eagle Grove; a step-daughter, Christine Darland, Eagle Grove; a step grandson; eight sisters, Katherine Heidrich of Linton, N. D., Regina Gangl, St. Anthony, N. D., Mary Billman, Centralia, Wash., Cecilia Fleck, Bismarck, N. D., Caroline Shaffer, Fargo, N. D., Valeria Snigla, Bentonville, Ark., Bernadine Dickson, Morrilton, Ark., and Theresa Wilhelm, Wilton, N. D.; three brothers, Tony Wilhelm, Edgeley, N. D., Fred Wilhelm, Wilton, N. D., and Blazer Wilhelm, Eagle Grove. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Joseph and John.

Funeral services were held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 6, 1997, with Reverend Wayne Droessler officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
