Alma Regina (Tesdahl) Christensen
October 14, 1905 --- January 10, 1997

Alma Tesdahl was born October 14, 1905, to John and Nellie (Shurson) Tesdahl near Clarion, Iowa, in Wright County. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran church in Kanawha, Iowa. She attended rural schools in Norway and Lake Townships. She was united in marriage to George Christensen on October 10, 1928, at the Lutheran Parsonage in Kanawha. They farmed the family farm north of Eagle Grove for most of their married life. Mr. Christensen passed away in 1988. She entered the Rotary Ann Home in 1992. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. She had been an active member of the ladies' organizations of the church and served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She has been a member of the Legion Auxiliary and the Rotary Ann Auxiliary.

Alma Christensen died Friday, January 10, 1997, at the Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove at the age of 91.

Survivors include a son, Delbert Christensen and his wife, Rachel, Eagle Grove; two daughters, Barbara Hamer and her husband, Tom, Eagle Grove, and Shirley Hardcastle and her husband, Jack, Fort Dodge; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; seven step-great grandchildren; four sisters, Dena Hanson, Humboldt, Ruth Skogeboe, Austin, Minn., Edith Sayers, Boulder Colo., and Gladys Sharp, St. Louis, Mo.; and one brother, Newman Tesdahl, Austin, Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister, June Hanson.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 14, 1997, at 1:30 p.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with the Reverend Alice Horton officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
