Donald Edward Ivis
April 18, 1936 --- January 17, 1997

Donald Edward Ivis was born April 18, 1936, in Laurens, Iowa. His parents were Edward M. and Elizabeth S. (Uthe) Ivis. He went to school first in Boone, and then Ogden, where he graduated from high school in 1953. After high school, he worked with his father on the farm. He was united in marriage with Dianne M. Shuster on October 20, 1956, at Boone. They lived in Boone, Carroll, Missouri Valley, and Cherokee before moving to Eagle Grove in 1973. He had managed several lumberyards. While in Eagle Grove, he managed Emmer Wholesale Lumber and worked several years at Ellsworth Freight Lines. At the time of his death, he operated Home Repair Service in Eagle Grove.

Donald Edward Ivis died at the Community Memorial Hospital in Clarion on Friday, January 17, 1997, at the age of 60.

Survivors include his wife, Dianne, Eagle Groe; two sons, Daniel and wife, Deb, Urbandale, and Timothy, New Hope; one daughter, Peggy and husband, Gary Rees, Fort Dodge; six grandchildren; mother, Elizabeth Ivis, Eagle Grove; and a brother, LaVerne, Ormond Beach, Fla. He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 20, 1997, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove with Reverend Wayne Droessler celebrating the Mass. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
