Paul Harlan Jorgensen
October 27, 1934 --- February 8, 1997

Paul H. Jorgensen was born October 26 [27], 1934, to Howard A. and Lorraine J. (Brown) Jorgensen at Eagle Grove [Troy Township]. He attended Troy #5 Country School and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1954. He served in the United States Army for two years and was employed by John Thorn for one year. On December 25, 1966, he was united in marriage to Marilyn L. Hurst at Redfield, Iowa. He was employed by D & B Motors for six years and in 1961, he owned and operated the Philips 66 Station in partnership with his brothers. He farmed in the Vincent area from 1964 until his retirement in 1995. He has lived in the Eagle Grove area his entire life. He was a member of Lutheran Brotherhood and the Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove.

Paul H. Jorgensen died Saturday, February 8, 1997, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames at the age of 62.

Survivors include his wife Marilyn, Eagle Grove; two sons, Ronald of Marion, and Daniel of Sioux Falls, S. D.; three brothers, Rodney and wife, Jean, Eagle Grove, Donald, Vincent, and Dale and wife, Vickie, Eagle Grove; and one sister-in-law, Marlene Jorgensen, Eagle Grove. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Duane, in 1987.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 11, 1997, at 1:30 p.m. at the Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with the Reverend Carlton Shaw officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
