William D. Humphreys
4 July 1938 --- 1 June 2014

William D. "Bill" Humphreys, formerly of Galt and Des Moines, Iowa, passed away June 1, 2014, at
Spring River Christian Village in Joplin, Mo., where he resided for 17 years.

He was born in Iowa City to Leslie O. Humphreys and Catharina Humphreys Melhus on July 4, 1938.
After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He worked at several jobs in Clarion and then moved to Des Moines and worked for Mid State Ford in the Parts Department. After suffering a stroke in November 1996, he was moved to Joplin to be near his brother, Chuck.

Bill is survived by one brother Leslie "Chuck" Humphreys and wife Shirley, Joplin, Mo. Four nephews, Terry Humphreys, Tebbitts, Mo., Ron Humphreys, Joplin, Mo., Ken Moses, Chicago, Ill., and Jeff Moses, Laguna Woods, Calif., and one niece, Kathy Ebeling, Virginia Beach, Virginia. One aunt Mrs. Vi Schnell of Clarion, many cousins and friends who made him feel loved and wanted and at "home" for 17 years.

Graveside memorial services will be held Saturday, July 12, 2014, at the Goldfield Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Mason Woodard, Joplin, Mo.
