January 7, 1871 — November 21, 1959

Gust West, 88. died Saturday afternoon at his home on East Broadway. He is survived by his wife, and one son Joseph, one brother, Joseph West of Marshalltown, and two sisters, Sister Lenora of Pomeroy, and Sister Leonnitta [Leonetta] of Dubuque.

Funeral services were Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock in Sacred Heart church in charge of Rev. Maurice Mullan. Interment was in Calvary cemetery.

Gust West was born Jan. 7, 1871, and departed this life on Nov. 21, 1959, at the age of 88 years, 10 month's and 14 days.

Gust West son of Joseph and Christina West was born on Jan. 7, 1871 at Galena, Illinois at the age of 14 years he moved with his parents onto a farm near Haverhill, Marshall County, Iowa. On October 11, 1897 he was married to Susan Nosbisch at Haverhill they immediately came to Wright County and settled on a farm southeast of Eagle Grove where they lived until the year of 1944 when they retired and moved to their present home on East Broadway.

Mr. West is survived, by his wife, one son Joseph at home, one brother and two sisters, Joseph West of Marshalltown, Sister Leonora of Pomeroy and Sister Leonetta of Dubuque. He was preceded in death by his parent's, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 10 A. M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Maurice Mullan as celebrant of the requiem mass. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
