_____

T. L. Rogerson died suddenly at his home at 5:45 a. m. Monday, January 15. His death followed a stroke suffered during the night and was entirely unexpected. He had been up and around Sunday as usual.

Rogerson had been agent for the Chicago and Great Western railroad here for 31 years having come to Eagle Grove in November, 1919.

He was also prominent in community affairs having served on the city council for several terms. He was also a candidate for mayor on regular tickets and at least once as a write in candidate. He was for many years chairman of the swimming pool committee on the council and many improvements to the pool service were made during his tenure in this office.

Rogerson fell about 3 years ago on the ice and broke his shoulder. He had not been in good health since and missed many months of work and in addition had given up his public work.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. John Deimerly of Clarion and Mrs. Brent Vieth of Hawley, Minnesota; five grandchildren; one sister Mrs. Joseph Hermes of Edina, Missouri; two brothers Charles of Hurdland, Missouri, and Carl of Rock Island, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held this (Thursday) morning in Sacred Heart church with Rev. James Slowey officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.

Persons here for the funeral include Mr. and Mrs. Vieth and two children of Hawley, Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. Deimerly and three sons of Clarion; Mrs. Hermes of Edina, Missouri, and Charles Rogerson of Hurdland, Missouri.

D. M. Farran will be acting agent for the CGW until an appointment is made. Mr. Farran lives in Eagle Grove but has been working for the company at Swaledale, Iowa. Rogerson's position as agent here will be put up for bid in the near future and his replacement named at that time.
