____________________________________________________________Herman Henry Boge was born at Renwick, Iowa, on December 3rd, 1903. His early youth was spent with his parents on a farm east of Renwick.
At the age of 13 he was confirmed in the Lutheran Church of Renwick to which church he remained a faithful member until his death.
He enrolled in the ninth grade with the graduating class of 1921, but on account of sickness he was compelled to discontinue school work before he had completed his first year of High School.
During the last year Herman has been in the best of health until last Thursday he was suddenly taken ill. Before the relatives could reach his bedside, he passed away on Feb. 19th at the age of 19 years, 2 months and 16 days. One brother preceded him in death.
Herman was of a kindly disposition, his habits being manly. He was a devoted son and loving brother and a boy of exemplary Christian character. May our loss be his gain.
He leaves to mourn his loss: His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Boge, three sisters, Mrs. Albert Helmke, Mrs. W. H. Helmke, and Miss Lucy Boge, two nephews, one niece and a host of other relatives and friends.
Dearest brother thou hast left us
And our loss we deeply feel;
But Tis God that has bereft us
He can all our sorrows heal,
Yet again, we hope to meet thee,
When the day of life in fled;
When in heaven with the joy to greet thee,
Where no farewell tears are shed.The funeral services were held by Rev. L. W. Reuther at the Lutheran church last week Wednesday afternoon. Burial was made in the cemetery at Goldfield.
