Aurora–Edgar Whitman, 81, of Rt. 1., Mulino (Buckner Creek) died at his home Wednesday following an extended illness. Whitman was born June 5, 1860, in Minnesota [Iowa], and came to Oregon 37 years ago, for the past 17 years making his home In Clackamas county. Married July 27, 1880.
Survived by widow, Cordelia, and the following children: George of Saskatchewan, Can., Austin of Alberta. Virgil of Mulino, Boyd of The Dalles, Mrs. Ora Bonner of Portland, Mrs. Pearl Levine of Park Place, Mrs. Mattie Brightsman of Mulino, Mrs. Jessie Brightsman, Mrs. Muriel Gorton of The Dalles, Mrs. Evelyn Longtain of Manhattan Beach; 31 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Transcriber's Note: Edgar Whitman was found in the Iowa, U.S. State Census Collection, 1836-1925, living in Liberty Township, Wright County, Iowa. According to the Oregon, U.S., Delayed Birth Certificate, 1842-1920, Registration of the Birth, for daughter, Perle May LeVine [Levine], born at Goldfield, Wright County, Iowa, on the 10th day of June, in the year 1888, the petitioner’s father was Edgar Whitman of the City of Goldfield, State of Iowa, who was born at Kossuth County, Iowa, on the 5 day of June, 1861 [1860], and that the petitioner’s mother was Cornelia Whitman, of the City of Goldfield, State of Iowa, whose maiden name was Cornelia Brassfield and who was born at Missouri, on the 19 day of September, 1864. Registered in the Records of the Oregon State Board of Health, April 23, 1948. Pearl was born a twin, her twin brother Earl Whitman in buried in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield, Wright, Iowa. Earl Whitman, died at 2 months of age.
