Edythe Marguerite Pickering was born August 19, 1897, the daughter of William and Mary (McKinnon) Pickering at Hopkinton, Minn. She graduated from Terril Community Schools and Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls. She taught home economics at Sibley and Vernon Consolidated, in Renwick.Edythe was united in marriage to Rudolf E. Schipull of Goldfield October 13, 1920 at Algona. The couple farmed in the LuVerne area until 1923 when they moved to a farm north of Goldfield. The couple later retired to Goldfield in 1952. Edythe and her husband traveled to several foreign countries and she gave many presentations to various groups and shared their experiences with others. In early years, she was very active in Farm Bureau, Garden Club, and as a Sunday school teacher, a member of Gertrude Chapter in the Order of the Eastern Star, and White Shrine No. 14. She was also a member of the Presbyterian Church at Goldfield.
Edythe Schipull died August 24, 1987 at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and one grandchild. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Ardith Field, Goldfield; Mrs. Charles (Etha) Hutchcroft, Ames; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the United Presbyterian Church Thursday, August 27, 1987 at 2 p.m. The Rev. Victor V. Victoria officiated and burial was in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield.
