Funeral Tuesday for Joan Schaumberg
Funeral services were held at St. Peter's Lutheran church in Woolstock Tuesday afternoon for Joan Schaumberg, 7 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schaumberg.

Joan collapsed and died at the home of her parents Saturday morning about 10:30 and as yet the pathology department at Iowa University has not made a report as to the cause of her death.

Rev. M. Jung pastor of the church had charge of the services and music was furnished by Audrey Pagel, Mary Bealmer, Sherry Brock and Bernice Loux with Raymond Loux accompanying. Casket bearers were Dennis Pagel, Richard Loux, Russell Van Horn, and Gary Grandgeorge. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Out of town relatives and friends attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Haas and Roger, Marion, Va.; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Van Horn, Russell, Laura Lee and Joey, Estherville; Mrs. Lars Larson, Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Kujtz, Mrs. Fred Braboc, Albert Lea, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Scheaffer, Mrs. Leo Harbockeck, Mason City, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Schipull, Irvington, Mr. and Mrs. John Van Horn, Thomas Van Horn, Humboldt; Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Skadburg, Mrs. Martin Larson, Clarion, Mrs. Myrtle Corner, Mrs. Carroll Gillespie, Renwick, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Gilliespie, Goldfield; Mr. and Mrs. Alton Potter, Riceville, Iowa.

JoAnne Verladine Schaumburg was born September 10, 1946 [in Fort Dodge, Iowa] and on October 27, 1946 she was made an heir of the Kingdom of God by Holy Baptism here in church by Pastor Virgil Brack. She suddenly departed this life last Saturday, August 21, 1954 aged 7 years, 11 months and 11 days. Her early departure is mourned by her grief-stricken parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Schaumburg, and two younger brothers, Wm. and Robert, her parental grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schaumburg of Clarion, her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Haas of Eagle Grove, and many near relatives and friends.

Pneumonia Cause of Little Girl's Death
The cause of the death of Joan Schaumberg has been described as acute Interstitial pneumonia by the pathology department at the University hospitals. Joan, the 7 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schaumberg, collapsed and died suddenly at her parents home the morning of Aug 21st.
