Mary McCreery Williams
15 May 1824 -- 15 January 1890Death of Mrs. O. R. Williams
Mrs. O. R. Williams died at her home in Goldfield, Jan. 15th at 5 o'clock p. m. of dropsy. The funeral services took place at the U.P. church Friday at 11 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. R. Faus, assisted by Rev. G. I. Findley, and the remains were lain to rest in Glenwood cemetery.Mrs. Williams was born in Essex county, Canada, May 10th, 1824, and at the early age of eleven she experienced religion and was united with the M.E. church, of which she was a constant member until her death. In 1868 she was married to O. R. [Oscar R.] Williams, in Berlin, Wisconsin, and from there they moved to Iowa, where she resided until her death.
She was the mother of ten children; eight of whom survive her. She was a dutiful wife, an indulgent mother and a kind and social neighbor. She had been a great sufferer for nearly a year; but was ever patient, and resigned to the Lord's will and was ready and willing to go. The sorrowing family have the sympathy of their many friends.
